SENIOR GIFT
Greetings, Class of 2008!
As the Senior Gift Co-Chairs for the Class of 2008, we hope you will join us and many of our classmates in giving back to Harvard through our Class Gift.
Senior Gift is a fundraising effort run through the Harvard College Fund by approximately 150 of our classmates. It offers us an opportunity to give back to Harvard and strengthen the undergraduate experience for the Classes of ’09,’10 and beyond.
The heart of Senior Gift is the House Competition (a six-week campaign to see which house can raise the highest percentage of gifts). The Competition begins on April 4th and ends on May 14th at midnight. In addition to bragging rights and a shout-out on Class Day, the victorious House has the chance to decorate the senior booth in the Queen’s Head Pub with House photos and memorabilia, complete with its name engraved on a plaque that hangs permanently in the booth.
Our Participation Goal: 68% for ’08
Giving
We ask seniors for gifts of $10 or more, which can be made in recognition of another individual (a parent, a professor, etc.). Seniors also have the opportunity to set up a recurring gift and receive a $50 match to their Senior Gift – see details below. This is a convenient way to extend the Class’s strong participation into its first alumni years.
Gifts may be directed to:
- Unrestricted
-Financial Aid
- Dean’s Fund for Undergraduate Experience
Ways of Giving:
- Cash
- Check (made out to Harvard College Fund)
- Crimson Cash (cash.harvard.edu, click “Donations”)
- Credit Card (post.harvard.edu/seniorgift, click “Make a Gift”)
Make your gift during the House Competition (April 4 – May 14)
Let’s maximize the leverage of our Gift with the 1636 Society Challenge.
The Harvard College Fund Recent Graduates Committee, which consists of alumni from the Classes of 1995-2007, has presented the Class of 2008 with the 1636 Society Challenge, to encourage seniors to set up recurring gifts.
Every senior who establishes a recurring gift will receive a $50 match to their Senior Gift.
Even seniors who contribute to Senior Gift with a different type of payment (cash, check, Crimson Cash) can still sign up as a recurring donor and receive the $50 match. By visiting post.harvard.edu/seniorgift (click “Make a Gift”), you can set up your recurring gift with a credit card. You can set the automatic donations to begin after graduation on a monthly or annual basis.
